What is it: A working example of applying a Doughnut Economics framework at a neighbourhood level, co-created with DEAL and Civic Square - a collective working to reimagine land stewardship, finance, and governance, and to create a new form of regenerative civic infrastructure, honouring people, place and planet.

Mission: “It could be that the neighbourhood, not the individual, is the essential unit of social change. If you’re trying to improve lives, maybe you have to think about changing many elements of a single neighbourhood, in a systematic way, at a steady pace.” — David Brooks

How: A Neighbourhood is used as a demonstrator, as a site of experimentation and radical imagining, to show how infrastructure can be used as a tool for social, economic and ecological well-being.

Where: The demonstrator located itself in Ladywood, Birmingham UK, the home, hearth, and heart of Civic Square.
